DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman sold $6.2 million in the company's stock, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. According to the filing, Kullman sold 86,439 shares worth $72 apiece.

The filing also said she has 453,204 remaining shares in the company.

"Ms. Kullman retains a significant ownership position in the company," said DuPont spokesman Dan Turner on Monday. "In this instance, she had no discretion over the exercise of her options. They were automatically exercised under a preexisting 10b5-1 plan that is managed by a third party."

Matt Arnold, equity analyst for Edward Jones in St. Louis, said he often sees executives sell some of the shares in the companies they run. She still has plenty of remaining stock, he said. "I wouldn't read into it much," he said.
