Kicker Alex Henery cut as Eagles name 53-man roster
The Eagles finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by releasing 19 players, placing two more on injured reserve and losing one other to a four-game suspension in Lane Johnson.
One of those released was kicker Alex Henery, who held the job for the previous three seasons. But he was beaten out by Cody Parkey, whom the Eagles traded for Aug. 20. Parkey made two long field goals _ from 53 and 54 yards _ in the final preseason game Thursday.
The Eagles also released one of their draft picks, fifth rounder Ed Reynolds.
WR Arrelious Benn was placed on injured reserve, although that is considered short-term IR, meaning that he'll be released when he's healthy. LB Travis Long was also put on IR, but he will miss the season after tearing his ACL on Thursday.
The others released were LB Emmanuel Acho, OL Josh Andrews, RB Kenjon Barner (waived/injured), CB Roc Carmichael, T Kevin Graf, WR Damaris Johnson, S Keelan Johnson, RB Henry Josey, LB Josh Kaddu, DT Wade Keliikipi, QB G.J. Kinne, CB Curtis Marsh, WR Ifeanyi Momah, WR Will Murphy, WR Quron Pratt, DT Damion Square, RB Matthew Tucker.
