Four men – wearing ski masks and brandishing guns – forced their way into a west side home late Tuesday and left behind 64 packets of heroin, Wilmington police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 1000 block of S. Rodney St., when the four bandits burst into the residence, Master Sgt. Donald Bluestein said.

The homeowner told officers that the intruders did not take anything, but a search of the residence indicated that they had forgotten to take 64 packets of heroin, which they left on top of the refrigerator, Bluestein said.

When questioned, the victims said the drugs were not theirs and that the intruders had left them behind.
