Smyrna school hit with bomb threat.

A Milltown-area high school was deemed safe after a written bomb threat was found inside a restroom Thursday, according to state police.

About 10:45 a.m., Thursday, a bomb threat for St. Mark's High School was written on a wall of a second-floor bathroom, according to Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, a Delaware State Police spokesman. The threat advised that there were several bombs inside the building, located at 2501 Pike Creek Road, Hale said.

The school was evacuated and students were placed in a pre-determined location while K9 units from the state police, the Wilmington Police Department and the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) conducted a sweep of the building, Hale said.

No peculiar or suspicious activity was located by police, the school was deemed safe and students were allowed to re-enter the building and resume their daily activities, according to Hale.

Delaware State Police is investigating the incident. No suspect information was made available as of Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the month, two Smyrna high school students, ages 14 and 15, were charged in connection with a bomb threat on social media that played on the growing clown hysteria. The high school was also evacuated and later deemed safe after an inspection of the property.
