Two people were injured when a pickup truck crashed and overturned on southbound I-95 near Wilmington on Thursday.

The accident happened about 9 a.m. just south of the Concord Pike (U.S. 202) exit, in the Blue Rock Manor area, according to Cpl. Abigail Hale of New Castle County paramedics.

She said the driver, a 38-year-old man, was treated by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in serious condition, with head, neck and back injuries.

A second person of unknown age was taken to Wilmington Hospital in stable condition, she said.

The crash closed the right lane, according to state police Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale.

Traffic backed up for miles.

DelDOT online traffic sensors showed speed approaching the area was down to 12 mph until the wreckage was cleared.
