Man killed in Wilmington identified

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night in Wilmington, city police said in a release Sunday morning.

Tahmere Elliot, 18, of Wilmington was shot in the head shortly after 10 p.m., police said Monday.

Police said they were dispatched to the area of 27th and West streets after a Shot Spotter complaint, and as they were headed to the area, they were advised of a person down in the 200 block of W. 27th St.

Police said that is where they found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no suspect information available at this time, police said.
