A girl told her mother about a man who talked to her at a bus stop in Bear, and he is now being investigated as a suspicious person, New Castle County police said Wednesday night.

The girl said the man stopped his car that morning and talked to her at a stop in the first block of Stephanie Drive, Sgt. Jacob Andrews said.

The girl ran home and called her mother, who alerted police, he said.

The man was described as about 40 years old and blond and was driving a small, bright blue car with two doors, tinted windows and a black cloth top.

Police canvassed the area but did not find the man or locate anyone else who saw him, Andrews said.
