Suspicious package near bridge cleared

The News Journal

Wilmington police and explosive ordnance officers have declared a suspicious package found Friday morning near the South Market Street Bridge to be "deemed safe," Cpl. Jermaine Crawford said.

The incident was reported about 7:30 a.m. as found property on the bridge, Crawford said. The package was found in the bushes, off to the side of the bridge, near Harry's Seafood Grill.

A command post for police was set up in the parking lot of Harry's Seafood Grill.
