Delmarva Power customers to receive credit for Pepco Exelon merger.

Delmarva Power's electric and gas customers will see a $122.64 and $49.95 credit, respectively, on their monthly bill.

The credits, created as a result of the merger between Exelon and Pepco Holdings Inc., will appear this month and into May, the company said. Pepco is the parent company of Delmarva Power.

"This is only the beginning of the many benefits resulting from our merger with Exelon," said Gary Stockbridge, Delmarva Power regional president. "Beyond the bill credit, there are financial, environmental and reliability benefits as well as additional assistance programs for those most in need and guaranteed ongoing philanthropic contributions for the next 10 years in the communities we serve."

The credits will be automatically applied to each household's bill as part of a broader package of benefits.

Other merger benefits include $2 million in workforce development over two years, a $2 million in energy efficiency program for low-income customers and debt forgiveness on accounts over three years past due for low-income families.

The merger between Exelon and Pepco was approved on March 23 after the District of Columbia Public Service Commission green lighted the deal.
