Investigators: Viola trailer fire deemed arson

A fire that heavily damaged a house trailer near Viola Monday was deemed arson by the state fire marshal's office.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio announced the ruling Tuesday and said the fire was started inside the house trailer, causing $25,000 worth of damages. Investigators are now completing a criminal investigation.

Anyone with information pertaining to this fire is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) TIP-3333.

STORY: Woman assaulted while running on trail in Newark

Members of the Felton Community Fire Company were called shortly before 10 a.m. to the 3800 block of Turkey Point Road for the report of a trailer on fire. A passing motorist called 911 to report the fire that engulfed the trailer.

No one was injured in the blaze.
