Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton is set to release six new beers in 2016.

Fans of Delaware’s oldest brewery have a dozen new reasons to welcome in the new year.

Dogfish Head Brewery recently announced it plans to release six new brews in 2016, while bringing back another half dozen favorites.

The Milton-based brewery’s new releases will include a pair of fruity India pale ales. Romantic Chemistry IPA, a seasonal brew available from March to May, will be made with mangoes and apricots. Flesh & Blood IPA, featuring the flesh of various citrus fruits and blood orange juice, will be available from May to June.

Two spiced ales also will have limited availability. The Belgian-style Tripel Beer To Drink Music To, billed as a liquid tribute to Record Store Day on April 16, will be on shelves for two months, starting in March. Summer will bring the release of Bière de Provence, a saison with a “healthy dose” of lavender, sage, thyme and other herbs.

Rounding out the new releases will be Seaquenchale and Beer for Breakfast. Seaquenchale will be an experimental brew that combines the German styles of Kolsch, Berliner Wiesse and Gose, available in August and September. Beer for Breakfast, meanwhile, will combine Delaware’s love for craft beer with its passion for scrapple, along with other breakfast-minded ingredients, just in time for the holidays.

Dogfish Head to sell 'hoppiest beer ever'

Six other beers shelved for a few seasons or a few years also will be making their return, including the unfiltered, bottle-conditioned Squall IPA; Belgian-style witbier wine/beer hybrid Red & White; 120 Minute IPA, a 120 IBU, 18-percent ABV hophead holy grail; seasonal favorite Punkin Ale; Pennsylvania Tuxedo, a spruce-infused American pale ale nod to clothing company Woolrich; and World Wide Stout, a barley-heavy imperial stout that promises to improve with age.

Some Dogfish fans may be disappointed, however, to learn that two beers now available year-round are being retired from the lineup to make room for the new and returning selections.

The nearly 3-year-old beer/wine hybrid Sixty-one and the gluten-free, sorghum-based Tweason’ale, first launched in 2011, will be shelved in 2016.
