The Wilmington Police Department needs the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for over 24 hours, police said.

Kanajia McDonald was last seen at approximately 5 p.m. Monday, said Sgt. Andrea Janvier, a spokeswoman with the Wilmington Police Department.

McDonald was last seen near Judy Johnson Park in the 200 block of N. Du Pont St., Janvier said.

She is described as 5 foot 4 inches, weighing 130 pounds with a light-brown skin complexion and long, black "box"-style braids, Janvier said. McDonald has gold coloring in her braids.

She was last seen wearing a peach hoodie, black T-shirt and black fitted sweatpants, Janvier said.

McDonald frequently visits the north side of Wilmington.

Anyone with information relative to McDonald's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Matthew Geiser of the Criminal Investigation Division at (302) 576-3667 or (302) 605-0121.
