Delaware State Police troopers are investigating the discovery of a video camera placed in the women’s restroom of Moe's Southwest Grill at 4717 Kirkwood Highway in Milltown.

The camera was discovered by a restaurant employee and reported to police March 19, said Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, state police spokesman.

Hale said the case has been assigned to the major crimes unit for investigation. Hale declined to elaborate on exactly where in the restroom the camera was discovered or how many people may have been victimized by the device.

He said more information will be released in the future. No timeline for releasing that information has been set, and the case remains under investigation, Hale said.

"The investigation is in its early stages and we are conducting interviews and examining the evidence to determine possible victims," Hale said in a written statement.

Phone calls to the restaurant were not returned Monday night.
