Man, 23, shot multiple times in Wilmington

Wilmington police are investigating the shooting of a 23-year-old man on Monday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred just after 3:30 p.m. in the area of 26th and North Tatnall Streets.

Police responded to a report of shots fired int he area, found evidence of a shooting, but no victim. A few minutes later the man walked into Wilmington Hospital’s emergency room suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man, who was not identified by police, was shot in the right hip and abdominal area and is in stable condition, police said.

No suspect information is available, police said. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The shooting was the second of the day in Wilmington. A 37-year-old man was shot in the abdomen just before noon in the area of Seventh and North Madison Streets.
