Police chased a man on foot who was in possession of fully loaded guns Friday just after 4:30 a.m., Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman of Dover police said.

Officers noticed he dropped an item before he fled – a 9mm Glock loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition, with a serial number scraped off, Hoffman said.

Police, in conjunction with several other units, tried to contact Thomas Clark, 27, in the North Governors Avenue area near Dover, but ended up on a lengthy pursuit to catch the man, Hoffman said.

Clark, of the 200 block of Mary Street, near Elsmere, faces charges of possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, Hoffman said.

Once caught, Clark was arrested and committed to Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna lacking $10,500 cash bail.
